Bible chapter of the month- September

Psalm 150

1Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

2Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

3Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

5Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

6Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Farewell for now! Fidelia

Grecian/possible coronation dress

Hey everyone!
Okay, so, all the dresses I've made for the coronation scene in my movie are kinda getting tossed around (Not literally lol). I'm just trying to find what will work best for each person's character. So, depending on decisions later on, this may be Cambria's or Fidelia's coronation dress.

Anyway... Here it is... xD

It has princess seams, a long train, and Grecianish style sleeves. (basically wings or flaps lol, I like them) xD

A pic of just the sleeves/wings :P

Fidelia's farewell dress

Hey everyone!
Today I'm going posting about Fidelia's farewell gown. It's probably my favorite of my costumes for the movie, very comfortable, and pretty too!

This costume consists of...

  • A white under-dress
  • Gold gown
  • and Brown boots

The top skirt is split in the front, sides, and the back. And it has a sort of fabric belt that laces in the front...

The sleeves are split down the side, revealing the white under-dress...

Long cuffs lace up with ribbon on the underside...

The gold gown laces up in the back...

Farewell for now!

Lucy's Voyage of the Dawn Treader costume

Hey Everyone!
Okay, I FINALLY finished the vest! I put it off for way toooo looonnnnggg. Quite a while ago I quickly made the vest as soon as I got the fabric, with no thought to detail or sturdiness, so last week I took the whole thing apart and painted the designs on it, added interfacing, and some soft brown lining to the inside. Here's the finished product: (Almost, I am currently working on the red leather belt, dagger sheath, and cordial pouch, I'll post about those when I finish them)

This costume consists of:
  • A white linen shirt
  • A fully lined red vest
  • Teal velvet pants
  • Brown boots

The cuffs and collar are pleated and sewn onto them is a cool trim that I found in our sewing room.

The front of the shirt closes with a small white button fastened with a handmade button loop. (Oops, sorry this one is sideways)

I found these great buttons at Joanns, very Narnian aren't they?

A close-up of the flower design on the vest.

The pattern on the bottom edge of the vest.

A pic of the brown lining on the inside of the vest.

I had a whole lot of fun (and, I admit, frustration) making this costume, and I'm pleased with the way it turned out. XD

Until next time,

Changes to the coronation dress

Hey everyone!
I've made some changes to my coronation dress that I thought I'd share with you...

I added fuller lower sleeves, sash, and a cape that are an ice blue color...

And got some white cord to tie around the sleeves... (I've saw this on Eowyn's white dress from the Two Towers and I really liked it)

Bible chapter of the month :)

Hey everyone!
I'm going to start doing this every month: Posting a Bible chapter that has convicted/encouraged/helped me this past month, so this month, I've decided to do James 1:

James 1

1James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

9Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

16Do not err, my beloved brethren.

17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

18Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

27Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Fidelia's Coronation dress

Hello everyone!
About a week ago I made Fidelia's coronation dress. (yes, I my new blogger name is the same as the character I'm playing in my movie:)
The scene that she wears this dress is toward the end of the movie when king Eliab is crowned.
Originally, I had planned on my green dress being my coronation gown, but it didn't fit Fidelia's personality very well. This dress is a silvery white color - Pure and simple, yet strong.

I also made a beaded circlet for the occasion...

That's all for now! (I will post the caption contest results tomorrow or Sunday)

Dress alterations

Okay, so I had this green dress that I made a couple years ago (Actually, it was my first large project) It still fit, except for the sleeves, they were too short. The dress was shorter too, but considering I had to lift it up to walk two years ago, the length is perfect for me now!

Here's the dress with the "before" sleeves...

I cut them right underneath the elbow and added some trim I found at a yard sale...

The dress with the new sleeves... (Sorry the lighting is weird)

Don't forget to enter my caption contest!

Hmmmm...my signature is not wanting to go in the center today...oh well :)
