Awesome verses :)

Hey everyone, here's one of my favorite Bible chapters...

Psalm 91

1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Of treasure hunting and homemade stencils

For someone like me, always wanting to try some new costume or craft. Yard sales are a key place to hunt for treasures. At one church-wide sale I got probably around 20 yards of all different kinds of fabric for $15!

A few months ago my Mom found a role of leather nearly three feet wide, and almost five feet long in a FREE box at a yard sale! My Dad and I are going to make a couple pairs of arm guards and two quivers out of it.

I found these leather straps snooping around in craft boxes.

Now for the homemade stencils. I wanted to do some designs on a costume I'm making, but I couldn't find any that had the kind of designs I wanted, so I folded a piece of paper in half (To make it symmetrical), drew my design, then cut it out...

Then I traced it onto a piece of green poster board to make it stiff...

3 in 1 Costume

Hello everyone!

About two weeks ago I wanted to make a costume, but I couldn't decide what costume I wanted to make, but i had three ideas... 1. I wanted (and needed) to make a costume for the character I'm playing (Fidelia) in a movie that my friends and I are making... 2. A Lucy Voyage of the Dawn Treader costume... 3. And a costume from my favorite character (Talia) in the Kingdom audio series. But then I noticed that all three costumes are quite similar, so I made them all at once.
Here's what I made...

  • Dark green pants
  • A off-white, long-sleeved tunic
  • A long Dark green sash
  • A light brown sash
I also wore dark brown boots, and a brown belt with it.

Here's close-ups of the trim I used for the neckline, and the end of the sleeves on the tunic...

I don't wear either sash for Talia's costume...

Here's the VOTDT costume (I am going to make the vest soon)...

And for the other costume I take away the belt and brown sash and add the dark green one, and tie it off to the side

To make it I used a nightgown pattern that we already had in our house for the tunic, I just shortened it, made the sleeves longer and wider, and added my own little touch to the bottom of the sleeves, I found the trim here too.I bought the fabric at a yard sale for REALLY cheap, I think the whole costume cost me $2.00 :) Toodles!

Starting out fresh

Well, I just deleted all my posts, cleaned up my sidebars, got a new template, and changed my blog name to Fidelia (It used to be Poppy).
I am going to try to post at least twice a week. And I'm going to write more about drama, making movies, and creating costumes... As well as tags, contests, giveaways, my favorite songs, and Bible verses. :) Starting out fresh feels awesome.
